CD front - mock up
For my CD mock I have used a image of an artist other than my own as there has been a delay on our photography session. This has made it quite difficult on figuring out the layout of the CD front cover as what may suit this image may not suit my own images. However, to make use of my time i focused on the conventions that i will add including the group name, album name and parental advisory logo. Also, the use of a mid is something I would also like to use (just like this one)

Ad
I have decided that I want to added a black box (similar to the one on the Jessie J advert) as when place the extra information i found that the text would blend into the background and because there is so many different colours it meant that would have to change the font colour depending on where the text is placed. This made it look confusing and unconventional which is why i have place a black box to use as a background colour for the information. this allowed the text to standout way more and look more organised.

Advert draft
I have started to work on my music advert focusing mostly on the layout and positioning of the font. Since we have not yet booked for the photography studio, I have used one of the images that we took previously during the filming of our music video. In addition, i noticed that the graffiti background makes it quite difficult to find a font type and color that stands out and doesn't blend into the background, therefore, next lesson i want to look into how I will make it work.

Editing: Text
On our storyboard we included shots with just text for the opening scene of our music video, therefore, in today's lesson we focused on adding Text. To make the text look interesting we decided to place a piece of footage onto the text. This was done by using a overlapping technique and cutting tool. Overall, the font type helps to convey the genre which is emphasized by the imagery placed onto the text. this makes it look unique and professional.

Today, we continued to chose and place the footage. We also added some jump cuts in the narrative section to show a passing of time and make the footage of me walking look more interesting. To do this we got one long footage and cut small section in between. The cuts corresponded to the beat of the song so that it did not look random.

Rough Draft of Music Video and Feedback
Today we pitched a rough draft of our music video to a group of students. In this process we were given feedback on what they liked and what they thought we should improve. a lot of the feedback given was positive and overall they thought it was unique, fun and intriguing. Also, the mise en scene used in terms of clothing and location was thought to be our strong suit as a lot of the students thought it was well planned out and suited the overall style of our genre.
We also received some feedback from Vanessa who thought that we had a wide range of footage that was well focused, clear and contained good lighting. However, she did mention that there was a few issues with the lip syncing synchronization and that we needed some effects. Also, tom advised us that like the rap verse where we have added quite fast cutting rates, we should also try a add more fast cuts throughout the music video. This is because it would make it more interesting especially since we will not be adding to many effect due to our style of music. Nevertheless, with this constructive feedback we will focus on theseissues when editing the rest of our music video.

Filming: Tv Studio
Once again we filmed in the TV studio but in our different outfits he ones previously worn in the footage we shoot in Shoreditch. For today we mostly took footage of the last two section of the song as we did not have enough footage from the ending of our music video.
We also focused on filming Jazmine and her rap verse due to the lack of footage we had as she did not fully know the lyrics. We mostly took low angle and mid shot to capture both her movement and face express as well as her surroundings

We are kind of finding it hard to add special effect not
only because we don’t know how to but because we realised a lot of 90s music
videos did not really use many of special effects that we see in today’s music
videos. A majority of the music video mostly contained a large range of camera
shots, angles and movement. Therefore, we have made sure that the footage that
we take has a large range of camera shots, angles and movements in order to
conform to the conventions used to make a 90s music video.
